Originally hailing from Bellingham, WA, Ian now resides on Whidbey Island. He does IT (haha, get it?) for South Whidbey School District. His elated family includes parents, Natalie and Mark of Bellingham, brother Zach and sister-in-law Kristina of Yakima.
Raised in Lynden, WA, Malia now lives on Whidbey Island. She is a high school science teacher for Oak Harbor School District. Her ecstatic family includes parents, Mary Ann and Allen, and brother, William, all of Lynden.
Ian and Malia met while working together at the Bellingham Public Library and began dating in the summer of 2011. They enjoy long walks on the beach, parks, card games over coffee (competitive cribbage matches), cheese, delicious desserts (cake!), a tasty drink, and sunsets. All of these favorite things comprised Ian’s marriage proposal on 12-13-14!
Please join us at 2:00 pm for the joining of the Turner and VanderVeen families.
The reception/party will begin immediately following the ceremony. The reception site is a mere 5 miles (10 minutes) away! Drive through the Intalco aluminum plant and follow the signs to Totem Terrace. Prepare to dance, sip, eat, swing, throw a horseshoe, or something even more fabulous that hasn't yet been thought of to celebrate the newlyweds.
